I love how sashiko patterns grow.
Before, Iâve patched on the inside, but with jeans Iâve found that they can become a little too tight after multiple patches. Besides, I really like how the fraying edge of the patch adds to the effect.

GOOD NEWS the expensive pair of jeans i impulse-bought last week (bc my current jeans make me actually angry to wear) don't fit me, so i can return them and get a refund đ
#on the one hand YES it would be great to have a pair of jeans that fit me#on the other hand i regretted that purchase financially as soon as i made it and i will be v glad to get the money back#WHY DOES NOWHERE MAKE JEANS THAT FIT ME#they're always just too baggy in places and too tight other places like they're usually too big and too small at the same time#and in that situation u can't just get it in a different size bc then it would still fit weird#these ones fit really well around my hips but were just weirdly baggy in the crotch? WHY#also they're always ALWAYS way too long on me but that's ok i can alter the hem length really easily#i guess the real answer would be to learn how to tailor the tops of jeans to fit me properly#i have been seeing some vids recently on pinterest on how to do that and i'll definitely look into it more#because it PISSES ME OFF TO NO END#the current pair i have are just. SO baggy and not in a cute way like they are definitely too big for me#and i guess i have lost a little weight since i bought them but i think probably they never fit right#and i was just so desperate that i settled#also i kind of made a loose resolution that i would only buy second hand or sustainable clothes from now on#and the vast majority of sustainable jeans do not come in sizes big enough for me#it fucking sucks but fast fashion brands really are the only places you can buy decent plus sized jeans#no 'good quality' denim brands eg levi or wrangler make plus sized jeans and you for sure can't find any second-hand#that's why this pair was expensive (bc the brand is sustainable)#i've ordered from them before and i remember having the same problem and having to return everything so i really should have known better#sustainably making clothes that don't fucking fit me lmao#đ§

Faux G*cci denim handbag
The piece was constructed using recycled denim cut into threads from thrifted blue jeans and then crocheted into square panels to act as the body frame; knock-off G*cci belt worked into the panels as the strap of the handbag
The piece was influenced by the popularity of intentionally "distressed" personality added to designer items found in this year's fashion cycle, most famously denim and leather. I wanted to combine elements of slow-work fashion with the high-end designer mark to juxtapose the increase in fast-fashion construction permeating into the designer fashion realm.

The Complete Guide to Women's Clothes: Trends, Styles, and Advice
Fashion is a powerful form of self-expression, and womenâs clothes play a pivotal role in shaping this expression. From the timeless classics to the latest trends, understanding the nuances of womenâs fashion can elevate your style and enhance your wardrobe. This extensive guide explores current trends, essential styles, and practical advice for making the most out of your womenâs clothes.
The Evolution of Womenâs Clothes To fully grasp the current landscape of womenâs fashion, it's crucial to understand its historical evolution. Womenâs clothing has undergone significant transformations, reflecting broader societal changes and cultural shifts.
Early Influences
In the early 20th century, womenâs clothes began to shift from the constrictive garments of the Victorian era to more liberated designs. The 1920s saw the rise of the flapper dress, characterized by its loose fit, dropped waist, and fringe details, symbolizing womenâs growing independence and the social changes of the Jazz Age. The 1930s and 1940s introduced more tailored looks, with a focus on elegant, figure-enhancing silhouettes during the war years, thanks to designers like Coco Chanel and Christian Dior.
Mid-Century Developments
The 1950s marked a dramatic shift with the introduction of Diorâs âNew Look,â which featured full skirts and cinched waists, embracing a more feminine and elegant style. The 1960s and 70s brought a revolution with bold patterns, mini skirts, and the emergence of unisex clothing. Designers like Mary Quant and AndrĂ© CourrĂšges led this charge, reflecting the counterculture and liberation movements of the time.
Modern Era
The 1980s continued the trend of bold fashion statements with power dressing and oversized silhouettes, while the 1990s and early 2000s favored casual wear and minimalist aesthetics. Todayâs fashion is a mix of past influences and modern innovations, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and personal expression.
Current Trends in Womenâs Clothes Fashion trends often mirror the zeitgeist, and contemporary womenâs clothes reflect a blend of nostalgia, sustainability, and innovative design. Hereâs a deeper look into the prominent trends shaping womenâs fashion today:
Oversized Blazers
Oversized blazers are a standout trend that combines comfort with style. These blazers offer a relaxed silhouette that can be dressed up for formal occasions or down for casual outings. They are versatile enough to pair with tailored trousers, jeans, or even skirts. This trend is perfect for creating a chic, layered look that effortlessly bridges professional and casual wear.
Sustainable Fashion
Sustainability is more than a trend; itâs a movement reshaping the fashion industry. With growing awareness about environmental impact, sustainable fashion focuses on eco-friendly materials, ethical production practices, and reducing waste. Brands are increasingly incorporating recycled fabrics, using organic cotton, and promoting fair trade practices. Investing in sustainable womenâs clothes not only supports environmental responsibility but also offers unique and thoughtful design choices.
Bold Prints and Patterns
Bold prints and patterns are making a significant impact in womenâs fashion. Animal prints, floral designs, and geometric patterns add a dynamic element to outfits. These prints can be incorporated into various pieces, from dresses and blouses to accessories. Mixing and matching patterns is also gaining popularity, allowing for creative and personalized styling.
Vintage Revival
Vintage-inspired clothing is making a strong comeback. This trend draws from past decades, reviving styles such as high-waisted jeans, puff sleeves, and retro prints. Vintage revival offers a way to infuse modern wardrobes with classic elegance, creating a timeless and sophisticated look. Incorporating vintage pieces allows for a unique and personal touch to fashion.
Monochromatic Looks
Monochromatic dressing is all about creating a cohesive look using one color family. This trend emphasizes simplicity and elegance, making it easier to create polished and sophisticated outfits. Experimenting with different shades and textures within the same color palette can add depth and interest to monochromatic looks.
Essential Styles in Womenâs Clothes A well-rounded wardrobe includes a variety of essential styles that can be adapted for different occasions and settings. Hereâs a detailed look at some key styles every woman should consider:
Classic Denim
Denim remains a staple in womenâs fashion due to its versatility and durability. A well-fitted pair of jeansâwhether skinny, straight-leg, or flaredâis essential. Denim can be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with a T-shirt, making it suitable for both casual and semi-formal occasions. Investing in high-quality denim ensures longevity and comfort.
Little Black Dress (LBD)
The Little Black Dress is a timeless piece that offers unmatched versatility. Its simple elegance makes it appropriate for various occasions, from formal events to casual dinners. The LBD can be accessorized in countless ways, allowing for endless styling possibilities. Choosing a high-quality LBD ensures that it remains a go-to piece in your wardrobe for years to come.
Chic Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are a stylish and practical alternative to dresses. They provide both comfort and sophistication, making them suitable for various events. A tailored jumpsuit can be worn to formal occasions, while a relaxed fit is ideal for casual outings. Adding accessories such as belts or statement jewelry can elevate a jumpsuit to suit different styles and settings.
Elegant Dresses
Elegant dresses are essential for special occasions, such as weddings, cocktail parties, and galas. From cocktail dresses to floor-length gowns, having a selection of elegant dresses ensures youâre prepared for any formal event. Choose dresses that complement your body shape and personal style, and consider investing in versatile pieces that can be styled in multiple ways.
Cozy Knitwear
As the weather cools, knitwear becomes a key component of your wardrobe. Cozy sweaters, cardigans, and knit dresses provide warmth and comfort while maintaining style. Opt for classic, high-quality knitwear in neutral colors that can be easily paired with other items. Knitwear is perfect for layering and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Choosing the Right Womenâs Clothes for Your Body Type Selecting womenâs clothes that flatter your body type enhances your overall appearance and boosts confidence. Hereâs how to choose pieces that complement different body shapes:
Hourglass Shape
For an hourglass figure, emphasize your curves with fitted dresses, high-waisted skirts, and tailored blazers. Wrap dresses and belted waistlines work well to highlight your shape and create a balanced silhouette. Opt for pieces that accentuate your natural curves while maintaining a smooth, streamlined look.
Pear Shape
If you have a pear-shaped body, balance your proportions by focusing on upper-body pieces such as embellished tops or structured shoulders. A-line skirts and wide-leg pants can help complement and balance your lower body. Look for clothing that highlights your waist and adds volume to your upper body to create a harmonious silhouette.
Apple Shape
For an apple-shaped body, choose pieces that create a balanced silhouette. Empire-waist dresses and tops with V-necks can help draw attention away from the midsection and enhance your overall shape. Flowy fabrics and tailored pants can provide a flattering fit and add dimension to your look.
Rectangle Shape
To add curves to a rectangular body shape, opt for peplum tops, ruffled dresses, and layered outfits. These styles create the illusion of a more defined waist and add dimension to your figure. Incorporate accessories such as belts and statement jewelry to add shape and interest to your look.
Inverted Triangle Shape
For an inverted triangle shape, soften broad shoulders with V-neck tops and A-line skirts. Wide-leg trousers and tailored blazers can help balance your proportions and create a more cohesive look. Focus on adding volume to your lower body while keeping your upper body streamlined.
How to Accessorize Womenâs Clothes Accessories are crucial in enhancing and personalizing womenâs clothes. Hereâs how to effectively use accessories to complement your outfits:
Statement Jewelry
Bold jewelry pieces, such as chunky necklaces, oversized earrings, and stacked bracelets, can transform a simple outfit into a standout look. Statement jewelry adds personality and flair, making it a great way to elevate your style. Choose pieces that reflect your personal taste and complement your outfitâs color and style.
Scarves and Shawls
Scarves and shawls are versatile accessories that can add color, texture, and warmth to your look. Experiment with different fabrics, patterns, and tying techniques to create various styles. Silk scarves can add a touch of elegance, while chunky knit shawls provide cozy comfort.
Belts
Belts are a practical accessory that can define your waist and add structure to your outfits. Experiment with different widths and styles, from slim belts to wide statement pieces. Belts can be used to cinch dresses, add shape to blazers, or create a polished look with high-waisted trousers.
Handbags
Handbags are both functional and fashionable. From sleek clutches to spacious totes, having a range of handbags ensures youâre prepared for any occasion. Choose bags that match your lifestyle and complement your wardrobe. Investing in a few high-quality pieces can enhance your overall style and provide practical solutions for carrying your essentials.
Footwear
Footwear is a critical element of your outfit, influencing both style and comfort. Invest in a diverse collection of shoes, including classic pumps, casual sneakers, and elegant flats. Choosing the right footwear can elevate your look and ensure youâre prepared for different events and activities.
Caring for Your Womenâs Clothes Proper care is essential to maintaining the quality and longevity of your womenâs clothes. Follow these tips to ensure your wardrobe remains in top condition:
Read Care Labels
Always check the care labels on your clothes for specific washing and drying instructions. This helps prevent damage and preserves the fabricâs quality. Different materials require different care methods, so adhering to these guidelines is crucial for maintaining your clothes.
Store Properly
Proper storage is key to keeping your clothes in good condition. Hang delicate items on padded hangers and store sweaters flat to prevent stretching. Use garment bags for special pieces and keep your wardrobe organized to easily access and maintain your clothes.
Avoid Overwashing
Frequent washing can wear out fabrics and cause colors to fade. Wash your clothes only when necessary and use gentle detergents to prolong their lifespan. Spot cleaning and airing out garments between washes can help reduce the need for frequent laundering.
Repair and Alter
Donât discard items with minor issues. Small repairs, such as fixing tears or replacing buttons, can extend the life of your clothes. Tailoring ill-fitting pieces can also improve their appearance and ensure a better fit. Regular maintenance helps you get the most out of your wardrobe.
Organize Your Wardrobe
An organized wardrobe makes it easier to find and maintain your clothes. Regularly declutter and reassess your wardrobe to ensure youâre making the most of your pieces. Keeping your wardrobe tidy and up-to-date helps you make informed choices and maintain a stylish collection.
Conclusion Navigating the world of womenâs clothes involves understanding current trends, embracing essential styles, and choosing pieces that suit your body type. Fashion is not just about following trends but about expressing your unique style and confidence. By staying informed and making thoughtful choices, you can create a wardrobe that is both fashionable and functional. Embrace the endless possibilities that fashion offers, and enjoy curating a collection of womenâs clothes that reflects your individuality and enhances your personal style.
Whether youâre preparing for a special occasion or updating your everyday look, this guide to womenâs clothes provides valuable insights and practical advice to help you make stylish and informed decisions.
